Sometimes you can save money by using things you already own instead of going out and making a purchase. Perhaps you have some items you like but don't make use of. Think outside the square and make use of what you already have to make some small changes to the decor of your home without spending money.

Here are a few ideas to get you started -
use a patterned sheet as a table cloth. This can be useful for an outdoor or indoor table and is particularly good if your table is large.

use a chipped pottery bowl as a plant container, drill a drainage hole in the bottom or place a plastic pot inside. All sorts of kitchenware which is no longer used for its original purpose can be used as containers for plants.
Look around at what you already own before you go shopping to buy a new vase, picture for the wall, table cloth or a bunch of flowers. Check out the back of cupboards for items you have forgotten about and see if you can use them for something different from their original purpose.
