House cleaning not only is a demanding job in terms of time and effort regularly invested, it also plays a significant role in the overall expenses of every household, regardless if it is big or small. This is particularly true if you consider that house cleaning covers practically everything, from windows and floors to clothes and dishes. The question is, is it possible to keep the house perfectly clean and still save some money doing it, without jeopardizing any hygiene requirements? The answer is yes, and here is how to do it.

Adopt a routine
Regular cleaning that involves small operations like dusting a different room every day instead of doing them all at once or moping the floor of your kitchen and bathroom every day will not only save you time and effort but by not allowing the dirt to accumulate you will need less chemicals to get rid of it completely. This may seem trivial at the beginning, but give it a try for a month, compare the costs to the previous one and see that it was the right thing to do.

Use less chemicals overall
How many times have you added just a pinch of softener or dish cleaner more thinking that it will make a difference and make your clothes softer and dishes shinier than ever? Do not do it anymore, take a pinch off instead. Your clothes will still come out soft and clean and the dishes shiny and you will end up buying fewer products and naturally save money by doing so.

Go for store brands
More and more shops are offering store brand cleaning products. Naturally, they need to be cheaper in order to attract the customers otherwise prone to one of the big house cleaning product brands. The fact that the competition is rising motivates the stores improve their products with every new generation. This means that you get similar if not the same quality for a fraction of the price, which is another recommendation for giving them a try.

Become a smart shopper
Not buying the first product that is available at the shop around the corner is another precondition for saving when the house cleaning is about. Buying at sales and using coupons bring substantial savings. Practically all respectable stores offer them, either in the printed form in their local stores or by offering them online. It will require some time to regularly check the coupon and sales offers but it will all be worthwhile.

Simplify the supplies
Judging by the cleaning products offered, you need a separate product for every cleaning task, from floor to ceiling, which leads to a budget overflow in no time. Luckily, the real truth is that the vast majority of products are at least double duty. Therefore, pick the multi-purpose ones for all general tasks and use the specialty cleaners solely for really tough jobs and those where the multi-purpose ones fail to work, say Sydney-based cleaners Urban You.

Make your own cleaning products
In practically every area of life, the answer to a problem may be found in the nature surrounding us. There is probably no place where this is truer than in household cleaning. Making the best of what the nature has to offer and creating your own cleaning products that will cover almost all of your household cleaning needs is a great way of saving money and at the same time improving the health of both your micro and macro environment.

Cutting costs of house cleaning requires planning and following a routine. However, once you get the hang of it and see the figures at the end of the month it will become crystal clear that all your efforts paid off. All you need to do then is keep up the good work.
