Heavily reduced dairy products from a local supermarket
Great savings can be made on your grocery bill if you are lucky enough to grab some supermarket clearance items.
Unfortunately these days with most stores being open until late, there is no hard and fast rule as to when these mark downs will occur. Except they will be made on products that are close to the "best before" date.
I tend to have a quick browse through the bread and refrigerated aisles looking for bargains, each time I need to pop into the supermarket. This works well for me and In the past I have bought heavily reduced baked goods, meat, deli items, dairy and frozen goods for a fraction of the normal retail cost. Most of these can be frozen for later use.

Have you ever bought clearance items? If so what was your best bargain? Feel free to leave a comment.
I buy marked down bread and keep it in the freezer until needed. Recently I bought some Asian style noodles which were marked down. We hadn't tried that type before. They were very tasty and I wished I had bought all the marked down packets.
