Growing your own vegetables can be a frugal and rewarding hobby. It can also be a great way to get kids involved in growing their own food as studies show that if kids are involved in the process they are more likely to eat a wider range of healthy fruits and vegetables.
The Yates Junior Landcare Challenge is now open for registrations. Upon signing up you will get to choose a free packet of winter vegetable seeds from a choice of carrots, cauliflower, lettuce, red onion, radish and spinach.
Once you receive your seeds, plant them and start documenting your child's process with photos, drawings or a short story. Then these can be uploaded to the website for the chance to win and ipad mini!
Registrations close on the 7th of April 2015 so you'll need to sign up fast to avoid missing out.
